Despite a large number of grants being available, many businesses still struggle to find a grant suited to their business or project. The industry, stage of development, type of expenditure, level of funding and many other factors might not align with available grants.
RDA AHFKI launched the Hills & Coast Business Grant in May to test demand for flexible grant funding that will support businesses through:
- novel and/or creative approaches to business growth, or;
- addressing challenges and/or barriers to growth.
The grant was extremely popular with almost 90 applications received from every corner of the region. We also received plenty of positive feedback:
“What a great initiative! Love that it provides opportunity for smaller businesses to apply too.”
“As an independent consultancy practice providing support to SME’s ………………. we would like to commend the Board on their initiative – co-funding doesn’t need to be a large sum to make a considerable difference to a small / medium sized business owner’s decision to invest in their ideas for growth, innovation or diversification……….”
Following selection across seven criteria, eight business were selected for funding:
- Horse Records
- Finch Restorations
- Maudie & Fox
- CJ’s Business Solutions
- Lobethal Fodder Store
- Section28 Artisan Cheeses
- Chamberlain Orchards
- Ralston Engineering
Congratulations to the successful applicants. We look forward to featuring each business and their projects in future newsletters.
