18-24 July, 2022, marks National Farm Safety Week to help tackle the inherent dangers in the agriculture industry.
Agriculture is recognised as one of the most dangerous industries. National Farm Safety Week aims to raise awareness around the risks and provide strategies and tools to help create a safer workplace. This year’s safety week, Recipe for Averting Disaster, aims to focus on some of the more intangible risks and hazards such as:
- fatigue
- complacency
- labour shortages
- aging workforce
- mental health
- blurred lines between home and work
Additionally, Farmsafe members will host a number of long lunches will be held in paddocks around Australia to bring farming communities and their families together to focus on one of the most important agricultural assets: people.
National Farm Safety Week Awareness & Resources
Farmsafe Australia will be running a national campaign to raise awareness of these risks and hazards that will be shared across a number of social media platforms and print media.
