Find the right people with the right skills

Our Workforce Development team works with employers, employees and job seekers to match the right people with the right jobs, while providing pathways to training opportunities to fill any skills gaps.

Skilling Our Workforce

We can help connect your business to Commonwealth and State Government skills and training programs, tailored to suit the needs of your business. This may include upskilling of existing staff, or helping you recruit skilled new workers. We can customise skills and training programs to the needs or your business and help identify potential project funds to offset the cost of training and recruitment.

In November 2021, we coordinated a hospitality pre-employment program where 10 people participated in an Introduction to Hospitality program. All participants gained industry accreditation and now qualified and available to work in the hospitality sector.

An additional program is planned to start in late January 2022.

Our team is also meeting with local aged care/in-home care providers to quantify current and future workforce demand. The information gathered will be used to develop tailored solutions to meet local employment needs.

Additionally, we provide tailored, one-on-one support to job seekers, helping them better understand:

  • available job opportunities in the region
  • industry and employer expectations
  • how to write targeted job applications
  • how to prepare for job interviews

Uncovering a new source of staff

Study Adelaide

Regional communities are looking for people to fill job vacancies in a variety of industries. Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills Fleurieu Kangaroo Island is pleased to partner with Study Adelaide on a project to connect international tourism and hospitality students with employers in the regions in February 2022.

During the trip, students and recent graduates will have the opportunity to:

  • meet potential employers
  • meet members of the local multicultural communities
  • take part in site visits at local organisations
  • tour the city and towns to find out more about the region
