The concept focuses on developing:

  • Rail and highway bypass from Murray Bridge to Two Wells running south of Truro
  • Melbourne to Adelaide, Perth and Darwin freight diverted from Adelaide Hills and metro area
  • Provision for freight hubs in Murraylands and Two Wells districts
  • Potential to run high quality public transport services from the Hills into Adelaide using former freight corridor and freed up road capacity

  • Improved safety on existing freeway
  • Reduced freight operation costs
  • Substantial mitigation of level crossing delays
  • Reduced congestion on metropolitan arterial roads
