Board member, Nigel Morris, departs for Boroondara
The board and staff of RDA AHFKI were sorry to receive the recent resignation of board member, Nigel Morris, who announced he would be leaving to pursue new opportunities interstate. His final day as a sitting board member took effect on Friday, 26 July 2024.
As the most recent CEO of Alexandrina Council, and former CEO of District Council of Yankalilla, Nigel has been a steadfast supporter of our initiatives for many years, and a key figure in fostering regional growth. He brought a wealth of experience to his board position with RDA AHFKI, first serving in this role from 2018-2020. Nigel’s commitment to the development and prosperity of our region led him to re-join our board in early 2023, where he continued to provide invaluable insights and guidance.
In August, Nigel will embark on a new chapter in Melbourne, taking on an exciting opportunity with Boroondara Council. While his departure marks a significant loss for RDA AHFKI and the broader Fleurieu region, we are confident that his influence and achievements will continue to resonate.
As both a board member and a community leader, Nigel has made invaluable contributions to RDA AHFKI and our region as a whole. His support has been instrumental in advancing our work and making a positive impact on the communities he has served.
James Sexton, Chair RDA AHFKI
It’s been a pleasure to serve alongside Nigel, both in our capacity on the board of RDA AHFKI and as Chief Executive Officers of neighbouring council regions. Nigel’s approach to economic and community growth in regional South Australia is exemplary, and his leadership will be missed.
Victoria MacKirdy, Deputy Chair RDA AHFKI
Nigel’s commitment to improving regional development and fostering economic growth has been clearly evident across his involvement with RDA AHFKI. I have personally valued Nigel’s contributions as a board member, as a regional leader, and in particular his genuine interest in RDA’s outcomes for the region as a whole.
Steve Shotton, Director of Regional Development RDA AHFKI
The board and staff of RDA AHFKI extend our sincere thanks to Nigel for his unwavering support and dedication over the years. His legacy within RDA AHFKI and the Fleurieu region will not be forgotten, and we wish him all the best in his new role across the border.
