RDA Finalist for National Economic Development Award

Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island (RDA AHFKI) was announced a finalist in the National Economic Development 2022 Awards for Excellence in the category of Economic Development Through Partnerships and Collaboration.

National peak body for economic development, Economic Development Australia (EDA), selected RDA AHKI as a finalist for the National Economic Development 2022 Awards for Excellence in September 2022.

Our inclusion recognises our work in helping reopen the Strathalbyn abattoir and establishing the Fleurieu Community Co-operative to manage the abattoir’s future operations. The extensive collaboration undertaken by our office, has resulted in formal partnerships amongst co-op members representing the entire red meat supply chain, with members representing production, wholesale, value-add manufacturing, distribution, retail and even industry suppliers

The Awards were held Thursday, 13 October with winners announced at a Gala Dinner at Luna Park, Sydney.

Alas, we were pipped at the post by City of Casey Council, Victoria, but it was an incredible honour to be recognised for our work and stand among so many outstanding candidates.

However, fashion may have been the winner, with our Regional Development Manager, Sue Arlidge, and Director of Regional Development, Steve Shotton, looking super-stylish for the event!
