Where the Care Jobs Are
Local event designed to link Care Sector employers with job seekers.
Regional Development Australia AHFKI, in partnership with Boosting the Local Care Workforce and Local Jobs Program, invited local providers in the Care Sector to participate in an event designed to help them meet people interested in working in Aged Care, Disability Care or Home Care.
The event, held at Victor Harbor TAFE, saw 14 local organisations showcase the range of current and future jobs on offer across the Care industry, with roles ranging across cleaners, care workers, personal support workers and allied health. Organisations were able to meet one-to-one with interested jobseekers to explain the:
- roles available
- employment conditions
- values of the organisation
- qualities they look for in potential employees.
Jobseekers who attended the event gained a better appreciation of the requirements for working in the Care Sector, and also had the opportunity to present their resume or register an expression of interest for current or future vacancies.
During the course of event, providers also had an opportunity to network and discuss the challenges of recruiting people to the sector, and share potential solutions and ways they may be able to work together to implement these solutions.
The challenges of recruiting staff into the Care Sector is a key focus for the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Care Sector Network, which is supported by Boosting Local Care Workforce, Regional Development Australia AHFKI and the Local Jobs Program.
