Victoria MacKirdy Reappointed as RDA AHFKI Deputy Chair
The board of Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island are delighted to announce the reappointment of Victoria MacKirdy as their Deputy Chair. The decision follows an extensive and transparent selection process, which opened the position to the public in November 2023, culminating in the final decision at the close of the year.
RDA AHFKI Chair, James Sexton, said “Victoria brings a wealth of management, business, and leadership experience to our board, and her commitment to our region’s development is truly commendable.”
Victoria MacKirdy, currently serving as the Chief Executive of the City of Victor Harbor, expressed her pride in continuing her role as Deputy Chair for RDA AHFKI.
“I’m extremely proud to be continuing on as Deputy Chair for RDA AHFKI. Our role in promoting, supporting, and advocating for development within our region is more important than ever, and working with such a diverse board brings a wide range of opportunities.”

She highlighted her enthusiasm for the role, saying, “This role is very much complementary to my work at the City of Victor Harbor, as both ultimately have a strong focus on improving liveability and ensuring positive economic growth.”
Drawing attention to her roots as a primary producer and past experience as an olive grower, Ms. MacKirdy added, “There’s so much to love about our stunning region, but, as a primary producer at heart, I think what I love the most is the premium food and wine. I’ve always said the regions are what make South Australia so special!”
Acknowledging the existing strengths of the region, she further emphasised the need for continued efforts to strengthen industry sectors and enhance regional productivity, expressing her confidence in RDA AHFKI playing a pivotal role in achieving these goals.
