$145m to Upgrade SA Roads

Premier of South Australia Steven Marshall said the $145 million infrastructure investment is an important part of our plan to create local jobs and help re-build our economy.

$12m North-South Freight Route Update

A $12 million north-south freight route upgrade is part of the 13 shovel-ready projects and road safety upgrades that have been announced as part of the $145 million infrastructure investment package.

The upgrade to the north-south freight route between Murray Bridge and Annadale will bypass Adelaide, reducing the amount of trucks traveling on the South Eastern Freeway. The project is scheduled to get under way within the next 6 months.

$6m Funding for Long Valley Road

Part of the $145 million infrastructure upgrade also included $6 million towards safety improvements to Long Valley Road. The improvements to the road between Mount Barker and Strathalbyn include: localised widening, shoulder sealing, intersection treatments, safety barriers and sight distance improvements.
