RDA AHFKI is aware of strong demand for employees in the Aged Care and Disability Care areas across the region. RDA has developed a relationship with ACH Group who were looking to fill a position. Aged Care is experiencing an ongoing demand for workers in residential facilities, as well as In Home Care services in the region.
Regional Workforce Coordinator Oliver Walton contacted job seekers who registered on the SA Regional Work website and contacted local Jobactive providers to identify suitable local candidates and prepared a shortlist for ACH Group to consider. ACH Group has interviewed these candidates with some progressing through the recruitment process and two applicants to date being placed into a job.
RDA AHFKI has met with TAFE SA to identify if there are recent graduates who maybe suitable; TAFE SA is now following up with ACH Group regarding options of placements for students which could lead to employment outcomes.
A1 Hire – Victor Harbor
A1 Hire Victor Harbor contacted RDA AHFKI wanting help to find a suitable person for an ‘all-rounder’ role in their business; Tony Middleton, Manager of A1 Hire said ‘they wanted a person with some mechanical skills and knowledge, light truck licence and good customer service skills’. They were frustrated at not being able to find anyone despite advertising online and through local employment agencies.
Regional Workforce Coordinator, Oliver Walton met with Tony to gain an understanding of the employer’s requirements and expectations so he could source the most suitable applicants. Oliver reviewed the program’s database and contacted jobactive providers to source candidates.
The team screened candidates and referred two possible candidates to the employer for consideration. The employer interviewed both candidates and has now hired one. The employer was very satisfied with the personalised approach and support they received from RDA AHFKI and the new employee is performing well and enjoying their new job.
