The Australian Government has committed $20 million over 2 years to support agricultural shows. This funding is being delivered through the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants program (AgShows).
The AgShows program provides grants of up to $500,000 to eligible regional show societies. The allocated funding can be used to repair, upgrade, build or buy showground infrastructure or attractions in regional areas.
South Australia received $2.3 million worth of funding for 19 grants, with a total of 5 grants in our region.
- Callington Agricultural and Horticultural Society Inc. – $124,000.00
- Parndana Agricultural, Horticultural and Floracultural Society Inc. – $54,908.17
- Strathalbyn Agricultural Society Inc. – $124,999.00
- Yankalilla, Rapid Bay and Myponga Agricultural and Horticultural Society Inc. – received 2 grants for $95,560.00 and $129,640.00
These grants will go towards much needed repairs and upgrades to the local showgrounds and facilities.
