The Federal Government Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment has provided $4m in funding to the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) to develop the Australian Farm Biodiversity Certification Scheme Trial. The NFF has launched a survey for farmers to have their say in the design of the trial.
Rewarding farmers for good environmental practices and stewardship has been a long term goal for Australia’s agriculture sector, with representative groups including the National Farmers’ Federation looking for ways to reward farmers for managing Australia’s landscape. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and provides an opportunity to help reshape the interaction between agriculture and environmental regulation into the future.
