Supporting our local food systems helps to secure food security and reduce our environmental impact into the future.
This event, hosted by The Food Embassy and supported by RDA AHFKI, aims to highlight innovation and action happening in the Hills and Fleurieu.
Taste local food, meet local farmers and producers, and hear inspirational stories of innovation and action that support a vibrant and thriving local food community.
The day will begin with a very special Ngarrindjeri welcome to country followed by First Nations dancing and song.
Then the picnic will begin with an opportunity to connect with local farmers and producers to purchase local foods or you can pre order a hamper or bring your own.
During the picnic there will be Moseses a local Ngarrindjeri chef and Manuela from Healthy Sparkles creating native local food delights and tastings. And at 1pm there will be a series of short talks from 6 local amazing food identities/farmers and producers – highlighting the innovation and action happening in this special food region. Speakers to be announced soon.
