South Australia Works Networks
South Australia Works, the South Australian Government's key learning, training and employment program for people disadvantaged in the labour market, has been highly successful in linking people with skills and jobs. Since 2004, South Australia Works has assisted over 190,400 participants in learning, skills development, training and work programs with over 50,500 employment outcomes achieved.
In 2009, a Strategic Review of South Australia Works acknowledged the overall effectiveness of the initiative and recommended that its principal objective be focused on contributing to an increase in workforce participation of all those who face disadvantage in the labour market.
This new focus will ensure that it is even more effective and efficient in mobilising people into pathways to workforce participation.
