A group of nine Kangaroo Island business and industry representatives participated in a study tour to King Island, Tasmania during September 2011.
King Island is situated in Bass Strait between Victoria and Tasmania

The four day study tour was a joint project of the Enterprise Connect WIIN Commonwealth funding initiative and Regional Development Australia, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island.

Participants gained experience and knowledge on how King Island has resolved its supply chain challenges and established its 'brand' in the hope that this wealth of information can be used to build solutions for Kangaroo Island issues such as

• processing of meat, fruit and vegetables
• accessibility of local produce for local and tourist purchaeses
• marketing the brand
• controls of quality and authentic products
• positive representation.
